After a triumphant Keswick on best dog friendly town in the annual Be Dog Friendly Awards in 2014 and the Lake District as a whole winning the great outdoors category, let’s not rest on that, let’s try and get a Cumbria/Lake District hotel winning he best hotel category this year.
It’s only when venturing out of the county or choosing another destination to visit or for a holiday that it dawns on people how dog friendly Cumbria is. There are very few places that don’t allow dogs with the number of businesses, eateries, shop, hotels and accommodation increasing daily. To be able to come to a place that adults, children and dogs love is just ideal.
Last year The Kennel Club ran a brand new campaign in conjunction with DogFriendly.co.uk, Be Dog Friendly “a Kennel Club Campaign to encourage, recognise and reward places and businesses that go the extra mile for the benefit of the UK’s 8 million dogs and their owners”. It proved an enormous success with dog owners in their thousands contributing, recommending and voting for dog friendly businesses spanning the whole of the UK and in a variety of categories.
With 2 categories under the Lake District and Cumbria belt and with so many dog friendly places to stay, it only seems right to focus on accommodation and winning one of those classes in 2015. Voting, suggesting and recommending is in full force with voting closing on September 18th 2015. So if it’s somewhere you stay at regularly or a new place discovered just this summer get online at http://www.bedogfriendlyawards.com/. We’ve been on and suggested our fav, the Tebay Services Hotel on the M6, Lily’s Kitchen treats always seal the deal with Mac & Cam!
